ATP Metz, M Llodra v K Vliegen

Michael Llodra gets better with age. The French veteran is now ranked inside the top 30 players in the world and loves playing in France. He won an indoor tournament in Marseille earlier this year and last week helped France reach the Davis Cup final in Lyon. He possesses a very dangerous first serve and is very powerful. He can play from the back or serve and volley and can be very intimidating. Belgian's Vliegen is in poor form and ranked outside the top 300. If he played his very best tennis then he could have caused an upset, but he is nowhere near to his level of play in 2006 when he reached number 30 in the rankings. He is more of a clay courter which will not help his cause in Metz. This should be a straight forward win for Llodra, and extra value would signal a straight sets win.

PREDICTION:

Llodra to win.
