Lucie Safarova has moved swiftly into the quarter finals in Quebec and in the defense of her good run last year at the same tournament. Many though she would be pushed by Johanna Larsson in the last round but came out a comfortable 6-4 6-2 winner. As mentioned in previous previews, Safarova needs to work on her serve, especially her second serve. She gives to many opportunities to her opponents meaning she needs to keep fending off break points. She should win this tournament with the top 2 seeds already out, but I feel Melanie Oudin is in the sort of mood to cause an upset! The young American desperately wants to finish the season on a high and move back into the top 50 rankings ready for an assault on the top 20 rankings in 2011. She thumped Ana Tatishvili 6-3 6-0 in the last round and the match with Safarova could well go the distance. I am going for the outsider here
