There is only 2 places between these two players in the world rankings, though Alla has got far more experience than her Chinese opponent. She has played many Grand Slams and bg matches and has some very good career wins to her name. She is never going to be one of the very succesful Russians but is making a living from the sport quite nicely and is very dangerous on her day if everything clicks together. I have built up Shuai Zhang all the way through the tournament and she has not let me down yet. She is liking the conditions in Guangzhou and showed great resolve in the thrid set again Sania Mirza today to move into her first WTA semi-final. I am going to stick Zhang again in this match, though i expect a tough three setter.
