Novak Djokovic became favourite to lift the mens trophy at the 2011 Australian Open by defeating the number 2 seed Roger Federer in straight sets. The Serbian seized control of the match by winning the 1st set tie-break and going a break up in the second. At 5-2 to Federer the Swiss star looked like he had regained momentum, however minutes later Djokovic had maanged to break back and level at 5-5 before breaking Federers serve again and taking a 2-0 lead. There was no way back for Roger who created too many mistakes and the power of Djokovic was phenomenal. The Serb wrapped up the match in straight sets and moved into the final. He won this tournament in 2008 and only Andy Murray or David Ferrer can stand in his way.

The tennis tipster once again predicted the upset would happen.
