Andy Murray defeated Alexandr Dolgopolov in a potentially tricky quarter final tie to move into the semi-finals in strong fashion.
Murray took a 4-1 lead in the first set before being pegged back as Dolopolov's play was patchy. Murray eventually claimed a break in a long 12th game and then powered through the 2nd set as Alexandr looked depleted. Murray was soon a break up and 3-1 up in the third and the match was nearly over as Dolgopolov was struggling. However suddenly he found his form and broke back and looked the better player for a few games. He took the third set to a tie-break which he won 7-3 after a Murray double fault and a few errors from the Scot. Match On!
The fourth set however started with a succession of 14 points in a row for Murray. Dolgopolov just couldn't find his shots and Murray went 4-0 up in less than 15 minutes! Dolgopolov got one break back to make it 4-2, but Andy Murray managed to close out the match 6-3.
Murray now takes on the winner of the all Spanish quarter final between Rafa Nadal and David Ferrer
