ABN AMRO Open, Rotterdam - Andy Murray v Marcos Baghdatis

Tough match here for Murray, after his disappointing Australian Open final appearance. Hopefully the Scot has put Melbourne to one side and is now looking ahead to a great 2011. The media where unjustified in their approach to the loss again Djokovic in Melbourne, Murray is an incredible player and just keeps coming up against fantastic opponents. His powerful first serve needs to work well against Baghdatis in Rotterdam. The Cypriot is a great returner of the ball and any second serves will be punished by Marcos. Murray though has a good game for indoors and will mix up his play to annoy Baghdatis. The Cypriot had to pull out of the Aussie Open and know one knows just how serious his injury was but if he has entered here Marcos must be confident. He also possesses a very good first serve but is also prone to serving a fair amount of double faults. Head to head it is 2-1 to Baghdatis and the only time they played on hard courts the Cypriot won 6-2 6-1 in a very easy match in Cincinatti. That was in 2007 though and Murray is a different player now. The Scot should win this if he has got rid of the Aussie Open memories. lets hope he can play well in Rotterdam and make 2011 a career defining year.

Match Prediction:

Andy Murray to win
