WTA News: Jelena Dokic lifts the title in Kuala Lumpur

Jelena Dokic came back from a 6-2 5-3 down to lift the trophy in Kuala Lumpur. The Aussie was struglling throughout the match with her second serve as Safarova took control and attacked. Dokic never took her chance in the first set and the Czech girl won 6-2. The second set again Dokic struggled, serving multiple double faults and at 5-3 looked out of it, but she managed to win one of her break points in the 9th game and then the set went to a tie-break. Safarova was again ahead 4-2 in the tie-breaker but back came Dokic. Lucie couldn't take her match point opportunities and Dokic held her nerve to win it 11-9 and take the match into a decider. The Czech ace again broke Dokic in the 2nd game of the third set and had points to go 3-0 up but fighter Dokic again attacked and forced errors from Safarova. She immediately broke back in a huge 3rd game before giving the advantage back to Safarova again by losing her serve. Double faults continued from Jelena but her ace count was also rising and winnig her games. She won the third set 6-4 to claim her first title since Birmingham 2002. The Aussie 27 year old could still be a very good top 30 player if she could just get a higher level of consistency and a tournament win will boost her confidence no end.
