ITF Fukuoka: Emily Webley-Smith continues good form in Japan

Emily Webley-Smith continued her good form which took her to the final of the ITF $50,000 event in Gifu, when she won her first round of the $50,000 in Fukuoka, Japan. The British 26 year old is now probably only a win or two away from a career best ranking and also not far from making the worlds top 250 players and guarantee her chance of a Wimbledon wildcard in June.
She will next take on Japanese top junior hope Miyu Kato for a place in the quarter finals.

Katie O'Brien also won her first round match and next takes on Erika Takao. O'Brien is also in a need of a few more wins to help her gain a Wimbledon wildcard or at least a spot in qualifying for the event.
