The Russian turned - Aussie Rodionova has a good all round game, yet her temperament lets her down on too many ocassions. She is slighty controversial and I think this has cost her in her career. She has never been a top player, but has made a nice living out of the sport and now an Aussie, she can play without being pressured by the huge amount of Russians at the top of ladies tennis. Currently number 65 in the world, Rodionova has had an 'OK' year by her standards and a place within the worlds top 50 by the end of year will a massive achievement, somehow i doubt it will happen. On the other hand Pavyluchenkova is really starting to make a name for herself. The Russian has been a top 50 player for last few seasons but in 2010 she has impressed the WTA even more. She has won tournaments in Istanbul and Monterrey and now sits at a healthy number 20 in the world. She looks set to move even higher in the next few years and maybe even into the top 10. She is the next 'big thing'in Russian tennis. Her wins in 2010 show she can beat the best defeating Wickmeyer, Dementieva, Schiavone and Hantuchova. The Russian has a powerful serve and posseses some big groundstrokes which help dominate her opponents. She is one to watch in 2011.
PREDICTION:
Pavyluchenkova to win
