DAVIS CUP- FRANCE V ARGENTINA

The US Open hasn't even finished and I am already looking forward to a week of high class Davis cup tennis. Its semi-final time and France take on Argentina. The French have home advantage in this match up and have chose indoor courts to play the tie on. They have a strong squad of Monfils, Gasquet, Simon and Llodra. Monfils and Simon will probably play the singles and theb Simon/Llodra play the doubles. France are Davis Cup legends and the 9 time winners have never lost to Argentina in 4 attempts so far.... The Argentinian dquad though will be no push overs. The have reached the semis 6 times in the last 9 years and although many think they are just clay court specialists, Argentina have shown they can on any surface. With David Nalbandian back in terrific form and we all know he loves indoor courts, the South American armada will be confident of causing an upset. I think Nalbandian will have to win both singles matches to give Argentina a chance. Unfortnately the 2nd singles player will come from Schwank, Zebellos or Juan Monico. All three players are struggling with their singles play and cannot see any of them winning their matches. So I think the Nalbandian will win hos two matches, France will win the other two singles match, and it will come down to the doubles. Llodra/Simon versus Zebellos/Schwank will be very interesting. All four players are good doubles players and it could very well go down to a deciding set, with the French pair coming up tops.

PREDICTION (Davis Cup)

France to win 3-2
