Serbia could well have a new Grand Slam champion in Novak Djokovic by the time they host the Czech Republic later this week in Belgrade. If he manages to defeat Nadal today at the US Open he will recieve a heroes welcome and would give the whole Davis cup team an extra boost. Djokovic will have a busy schedule but this sohlud not affect him and he should be ready to take on Tomas Berdych and company. The second singles player will be between Troiki and Tipsarvic. Both these players are in good form and will both like the indoor hardcourts. I guess it depends on the first match to see if they are put in for the reverse singles etc. With Zimonjic in the doubles team this Serbian side looks very strong and with home advantage will be difficult to beat. The Czech team has Berdych as their weapon. Although a poor showing in the US Open Berdych has been in good form reaching the Wimbledon final and having somewhat of a breakthough year. He has the ability to beat Djokovic and his other singles match. Radek Stepanek also has the ability to beat the best on his day and could win his match against Tipsarevic/Troiki. He isn't in good form though and is making too many mistakes. He is experienced though and this could be advantageous. The doubles side is quite week for the Czechs too and it may well be down to Berdych to help out their too. With a partisan crowd, the brilliant Novak Djokovic in good form i can see no other result than a win for Serbia.
PREDICTION:
Serbia to win 4-1
