Marino knocked out top seed Marion Bartoli in the last round 6-3 6-1. Her strong serving allowed her to control the match. She faces an in-form Bethanie Mattek tonight and this should be an intriguing match. Marino will be full of confidence and the crowd will get right behind their young player. Marino as shown in US match with Venus Williams is not afraid to attack ad doesn't suffer from too many nerves. A place in her first semi-final is at stake but she should concentrate on this match and try not to think about anything else. Is she can beat Bartoli then she can beat Mattek-Sands. The American destroyed dangerous German Julia Goerges in the last round and is enjoying a career renaissance and will look to break into the worlds top 50 by the end of the year. Bethanie if playing well can dominate matches and I think she will just have too much power for Marino tonight. If Marino takes her opportunity and plays consistently then she could have a chance.
