Oudin had a sensational 2009 moving into the worlds top 40 ranks, with solid grand slam performances and some impressive one off wins against high ranked opponents. 2010 has been quite flat and Melanie hasn't progressed as well as many Americans had hoped. They tohught she would be top 20 and fighting for tournament wins. She has slipped to 73 in the world and is trying to resurrect her year with a good display here in Quebec. She beat American teenager Riiske in the first round and will look to take out her Georgian opponent tonight and move further into the tournament. Lack of matches has been her sore point in 2010 as she has come across very good players early in tournaments and has not been allowed to get used to conditions in some tournaments. Tatishvili is a talented player, but hasn't so far shown the tennis world she is ready to be a competitive top 100 player. Still only 20 though Anna has a solid game and could give Oudin some troubles tonight, trying to out punch her younger opponent. She had a gritty win over Alicia Molik in the first round.
