WTA Tashkent, A Amanmuradova v J Craybas

Akgul is a star in her native Uzbekistan. Iroda Tulyganova was the number one player, but since her retirement, Akgul has taken over the country's number one spot. She is playing well recently and is only 10 ranking spots off her all time best ranking of 50 which she achieved in 2004. Akgul posseses a powerful first serve and the Uzbek star recently reached the 3rd round of the US Open and the quarter finals in Cincinatti, defeating Jankovic along the way. She will be desperate to win in her home country. She has reached the final twice in Tashkent, showing her liking for the tournament. Veteran Craybas is slipping down the rankings and at 36 has no reason to play but for fun. It would be wrong to say she isn't motivated but the American should not be able to cope with Ammanuradovas power. Head to head though it is 5-0 to Craybas and she hasn't lost a set, so this has to be taken into consideration! But Akgul on home soil should win this
