Jurgen melzer had a brilliant 2010. reaching the French Open semi-finals, the 4th round of both Wimbledon and the US Open and 3 other Masters Series quarter finals. He is on the cusp of being finally a top 10 ranked player at the age of 29. His game is suited to any type of surface and he has already impressed this week with easy wins Pere Riba and Vincent Millot in straight sets. His first real test though is against former Australian Open finalist Marcos Baghdatis. The Cypriot struggled in his first match here against Zemlja but impressed more in his 2nd round knocking out Juan Martin Del Potro in 4 sets. This could be a decent ding dong battle and whoever takes his chances will probably win. This is there first meeting and I think i will go with the underdog Bahdatis , who gives better value.
