I have an unhealthy appetite for following tennis around the world. From Grand Slams to ATP & WTA level events right down to the ITF circuit. No tournament is too small. Enjoy my predictions

David Nalbandian defeats Hewitt in epic tennis match.
What a spectacle the crowd enjoyed in the late evening at the Australian Open. After being short changed with the Clijsters demolishion of Safina, the crowd absorbed the atmosphere. The match went one way, then the other, then the other again. it was a classic. unfortunately for the home support, Nalbandian was the winner. Hewitt had 30, yes 30 break point chances but only took 7 of them. The Aussie was 2 sets to 1 up with a break in the fourth, before Nalbandian came bouncing back to break and then take the tie-break 7-1. The Argentine then took a 5-3 lead in the fifth but could close it out, Hewitt won 3 games in a row to go 6-5 up. But Nalbandian broke again in the 15th game and managed to serve the match out. He may have made a huge amount of unforced errors but Nalbandian was also far superior in the shot making and winners! Time for a hard earned rest for the Argentine
