Jarmila Groth wins in Hobart

Jarmila Groth gave the Australians something to cheers about, after all the devastation of the Queensland floods, by winning the WTA Hobart Open earlier today. The Slovakian turned Aussie star was never in trounle against Bethanie Mattek Sands of the USA and should now move nicely into the worlds top 40 and be full of confidence for next weeks Australian Open, where she has a tough draw against Belgiums Yanina Wickmeyer. Groth could do with working on second serve and also avoid serving as many double faults, giving opponents cheap points for no work. She is agressive though and a great shot maker.
