This is one of my picks for a great match in Sydney. It will pit the serve and volley skills of Maria Jose Martinez against the power of Alisa Kleybanova. Both had impressive wins in the first round, the Spaniard thrashing Daniela Hantuchova whilst the Russian defeated French Open champion Francesca Schiavone. it looks like Maria is coming back to some form which saw her have an excellent Italian Open last season and gain some big scalps in the early part of the season before injury struck and I think the Spaniard mix-up of the play could irritate Kleybanova and force the Russian into many mistakes. Only 3 ranking places seperate these two players.
