Tennis Tipster Tip: Andy Murray v David Ferrer

David Ferrer caused a big upset in the last round by beating world number 1 Rafa Nadal. Eventhough Nadal did have injury problems Ferrer played a powerful game of shot making and forcing some short balls from Nadal's racquet and punishing his opponent. Ferrer should not be under estimated. He is a very experienced player and although his best results have come on clay, his game is suited to hardcourts too. The Spaniard has been one of the most consistent players on the tour during the past decade and Ferrer will not be phased by the situation he finds himself in. David is on a winning streak of 9 matches and this will have given him a huge confidence boost over the last few weeks. His victory over Nadal will also show him he is capable of winning against the best. Expect Ferrer to use his great return of serve to good effect against any second serves of Murray.

Although Ferrer leads the head to heads 3-2, Murray has won both his matches on the hardcourts whilst all three of The Spaniards where on clay. The last time these two met was in the season ending ATP Championships in London, Murray won easily 6-2 6-2. If Murray is serving well he should win this match. He has a very powerful game and Ferrer may struggle to to keep up with the hard hitting shots that Murray has in his armoury. The Scot is eager to reach the final again as he did in 2010 and he will give everything he has against Ferrer.

Match Prediction
