Its womens semi-final day at the Australian Open in Melbourne, and first up is world number 1 Caroline Wozniacki versus China's Li Na. Both powerful women this could be a battle of shot making. Li Na hasn't lost a match in 2011 yet. She won the Sydney Open a few weeks ago with a straight sets win over Kim Clijsters, showing she is obviously a player in form. In the five rounds so far in Melbourne Li has not lost a set and the 9th seed has knocked out the likes of Vicky Azarenka and Andrea Petkovic with ease. She has a good mental approach to matches and doesn't let things phase her to often. Last year at the same stage Li Na was unlucky to lose in two tie-break sets to Serena Williams.
Caroline Wozniacki had a super 2010 which accumulated in her reaching the world number 1 spot. She is desperate to show the tennis fans that she is capable of winning a major, having reached the final of the US Open in 2009. She will have the pressure on her shoulders here as she tries to overpower Li Na. After a few exhibition match losses, Wozniacki has come on strong in Melbourne. She has only dropped one set to Francesca Schiavone and has looked powerful in her matches. Although she is number one in the world, her Chinese opponent is favourite for the match. Head to head it is 2-1 to the Chinese star, having won the last battle in the last 16 of last years tournament. I think she will have too much again for the Danish girl and although it may go to three sets, Li Na is my pick
Tennis Match tip:
