Another cracking quarter-final match up. Serbian Novak Djokovic was probably my pick to win the title in 2011 before the tournament started. The Serbian looks like he could do serious damage to the likes of Nadal and Federer's chances of winning the title. His all round game and skill are especially suited to the Melbourne playing surface and Novak is ready to win his second Grand Slam title of his career.
Tomas Berdych had been an under achiever in the sport until his Wimbledon final spot in 2010. The Czech star possesses a very good serve and powerful ground strokes. He has got better and better as this tournament has gone on, cumulating in the thrashing of Fernando Verdasco in the last round. He obvioulsy likes the big ocassion and if his first serve is working well then he stands a good chance of knocking out the number 3 seed.
head to head it is 4-1 to Djokovic, with all 4 wins for the Serbian coming on hardcourts. Berdych's sole win was at Wimbledon 2010 on the grass. I think Djokovic possesses a bit more skill and power than his Czech opponent which will ultimately see him reach the semi-finals.
