Tennis Tipster Tip: Vera Zvonareva v Petra Kvitova

Vera Zvonareva has become one of the most consistent players on the WTA tour over the last few years. Reaching both the US Open and Wimbledon Grand Slam finals in 2010, Vera has become the world number 2 and closing in on the number 1 spot. The Russian has played well in Melbourne so far losing only one set to talented Serbian Bojana Jovanovic. Zvonareva is coping well with the pressure of being in the media spotlight well so far and today she will face rising star Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic. Kvitova reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon last year and has shown a higher level of consistency since then and is on the verge of cementing a top 20 position in the world ranknigs. Still only 20 Kvitova is on a winning streak having already won a tournament this year and in the last two rounds she has defeated top players Flavia Pennetta and Sam Stosur. She is a quality player and i expect her to be verging on a top 10 ranking sooner rather than later. I feel though that Zvonareva may have too much experience for the Czech Star. She is less likely to get flustered and will be confident in her approach to the match. Errors may come from Kvitova's racquet, if under pressure. Head to head it is 1-1. Zvonareva thrashed Kvitova in Indian Wells in 2009 on hardcourts while Kvitova thrashed Vera on the Clay in Rome last year. It could be a three set match, but I think Zvonareva should come out on top.

Match Predicition:

Zvonareva to win
