I Van Der Merwe to beat S Devvarman
Wildcard Van Der Merwe has impressed in South Africa this week. the local will taken on Indian Devvarman in the semi-final. The Indian was lucky to beat Rick De Voest in the quarters and I think the momentum may still carry Van Der Merwe through to his first ATP final. Devvarman is more than capable of winning this though and the bookies have him favourite still, but i am siding on the value bet.
Maybe the ocassion got the better of him but Van Der Merwe put in a disappointing display against Devvarman. Too many unforced errors, a poor second serve and missed opportunities in the very first few games unsettled the South African.
