News: Elena Baltacha wins to set up clash with Shuai Peng

Britains Elena Baltacha had a comfortable win in Pattaya City over Lertpitaksinchai. Defending a lot of points from her ITF tournament victory in Midland last year, Baltacha knows how important each win is to protecting her ranking. She was never tested by the teenager and now sets up a clash over the very difficult Shuai Peng. The Chinese player has had a great start to 2011 reaching the semi finals of WTA tour events in Auckland and Hobart as well as a 4th round appearance at the Aussie Open. She is now back inside the worlds top 40 players and will certainly like the conditions in her native Continent.

Peng though is prone to lapses of concentration and can often go from winning a match easily into struggling to finish it off or even losing. Baltacha will have to make her first serve count here, attack the weak and unpredictable second serve of the Chinese player and overall play at high level throughout the match. Shuai though has wins in 2011 over Jelena Jankovic and Svetlana Kuznetsova and will be full of confidence against the Brit.

Good Luck Elena!
