ITF Gifu: Emily Webley-Smith and Katie O'Brien through in Japan

British tennis players Emily Webley-Smith and Katie O'Brien both won through to the quarter finals of the $50,000 ITF event in Gifu, Japan. O'Brien is looking to break back into the worlds top 150 in 2011 after a disappointing 2010, whilst Emily is now looking to reach a career high ranking, having achieved this in the early stages of her career when reaching the Wimbledon 2nd round in 2005. Webley-Smith reached 262 in the world that year and she now is placed 312. A few more good tournments could see the 26 year old reach the worlds top 250.
