WTA Madrid: Daniela Hantuchova v Sam Stosur - Match Preview

Daniela defeated Kimiko Date-Krumm in the first round convincingly. Date-Krumm though is over 40 years of age, and although still as fit as anyone, she is hardly a top 20 player anymore. Hantuchova is enjoying a good season in 2011 and looks competitive again, though her best years are definately behind her. The Slovak will need to cut out any errors if she is going to have any chance against Sam Stosur. last years French Open finalist Stosur isn't in great form on the clay yet in 2011. The Aussie may be feeling the pressure of having a lot of points to defend over the next month and needs to instead concentrate on her excellent potential on this surface. She had a good win over Gisela Dulko in the 1st round, with her first serve working particularly well. I cannot see anything but a Stosur victory here.

Match Prediction

Sam Stosur to beat Daniela Hantuchova
