Australian Open 2nd round - Mens Value Punt Predictions

M Llodra @ 2.20 to beat A Bogomolov Jr - This should be a good power tussle. Both men rely on their 1st serves to win many cheap points against their opponents. Llodra has plenty of experience at this level and had a good win over Gulbis in the 1st round. He has however never been passed the 2nd round in Melbourne in his long career and this i am sure will be big motivation for the French star. Bogomolov who has recently changed his nationality to Russian has also become a solid player in the last couple of seasons and steadily moved up the rankings. He will come under pressure to defend a lot points in the coming months and he will be highly motivated to do well here in Melbourne. I expect a tight affair and plenty of service holds, it could well even go the distance. H2H Llodra has a 1-0 lead but that match was on hardcourts in Delray Beach way back in 2003. The odds reflect the closeness of the match, however I feel the outsider Llodra offers more value, but only at low stakes

G Simon @ 1.66 to beat J Benneteau - Battle of the French Stars here. Benneteau in terrific form and moved back inside the worlds top 40 players afte his final in Sydney. He loves clay the best but has good form on hardcourts too in the last 6 months. Simon though is a big talent and a consistent top 20 player. He has a lot of power for such a slight player and he importantly has a 3-1 H2H in ATP tournaments with all 3 of his wins coming in straight sets on hardcourts. I expect a closer match today with some close sets, but ultimately Gilles should be too strong for his colleague.
