Australian Open: M Sharapova v P Kvitova

M Sharapova @ 2.30 to beat P Kvitova

What an almighty tussle this will be. Two very powerful ground strokers giving it their all for a place in the Australian Open final. Sharapova the 2008 winner here and a finalist in 2007 will enjoy being the underdog against Petra. Unlike at Wimbledon last year where everyone expected Sharapova to do the business. I have seen enough in the past few weeks to think Kvitova is beatable on this surface. A 6-4 6-4 win against Errani yesterday also didn't fill me with much confidence. Kvitova nearly went out to Suarez-Navarro early on and I think Sharapova has the confidence to be able to cause Petra trouble. The key to this match is each players serve. A high 1st serve percentage is vital for both girls and can set up easy points to win. No doubt both girls will fight and both girls are hungry. i see Maria just sneaking this in 3 sets. Shes won here before and she can win here again, only Lisicki caused her problems so far.
