WTA Sydney Match Predictions - 10th January

A Radwanska @ 1.55 to beat A Petkovic - The Pole has a 5-0 H2H record over Petkovic, 3 have gone to 3 sets. Agnieska thrashed her sister in the first round and I think 2012 may well be her best year yet of her career. She loves hardcourts and is very accurate. Petkovic had a great 2011 but I feel the pressure will be on her to perform in 2012 too, lots of points to defend etc. I cant see Radwanska losing, but i can see 3 sets.

D Cibulkova +1.5 sets @ 1.50 too beat C Wozniacki - Head to head it is 6-3 to the Dane, however 2 of the last three have been Cibulkova wins, including in this tournament 12 months ago. Dominika won 6-3 6-3 on that occassion. Cibulkova also came from 1-6 down at Wimbledon last year to take the match 1-6 7-5 7-6 At a price of @ 3.25 The Slovak is at a huge price and even +1.5 sets handicap give a nice payout. Also Cibulkova +4.5 games pays 1.75

L Safarova +1.5 sets @ 1.45 to beat S Kuznetsova - Head to Head it is 3-1 to the Russian, including the last three. However one of those matches went to 7-6 in a 3rd set. Both girls had great wins in round 1. Safarova took out Ivanovic and Kuznetsova thrashed compatriot Zvonareva. No doubt the better player is Svetlana, but as she showed when losing to Zheng last week in Auckland she is prone to lacks in concentration and Lucie will not feel outhit. @ 3.30 Safarova looks a huge price, but take +1.5 sets

J Dokic +5.5 games @ 1.80 v M Bartoli - Nice price. Dokic will get home support and this may irritate Bartoli. They haven't played before but Dokic will be desperate to please her fans and 6-0 6-0 win in the first round showed she is not to be messed eventhough her opponent wasn't the best. Bartoli early in tournaments can often struggle and this only being a 2nd round, she could well lose concentration. Dokic can hold her serve and get a couple of breaks, lots og value + 5.5 games

A Dulgheru +6.5 games @ 1.83 v Kvitova - Big punt but one that could pay off. The Romanian is a good player and it would only mean her losing 6-3 6-3 to pay off. People often forget that Dulgheru took out Kvitova 7-6 6-3 at last years US Open. Although that was in the Wimbledon hangover period for the Czech ,it will still give the Romanian some confidence. Alexandra has also already played two matches on these courts and will be used to the condiditions. I have no doubt Kvitova will win, but there is a little value in a games handicap
