I have an unhealthy appetite for following tennis around the world. From Grand Slams to ATP & WTA level events right down to the ITF circuit. No tournament is too small. Enjoy my predictions

ATP San Jose Semi-Final - Istomin v Benneteau
D Istomin @ 2.37 to beat J Benneteau - The odds are huge for Istomin here. The Uzbek star has risen up the rankings at the end of 2011 and shown some good form already in 2012. He is used to winning a lot on the Chalenger circuit, but with some more tournaments like here in San Jose, Denis could instead be soon qualifying for Masters events on the ATP tour. He is a great talent and just needs to work on his consistency to be able to move up to a new level. His win over Roddick in yesterday will give him an extra boost. Benneteau though has been in great form himself and although now classed as ATP veteran, the Frenchman can still play excellent tennis and has had a good start to 2012 and moved up to number 34 in the rankings. He is likely after this weeks performance to move to a career high, surpassing his no 32 back in 2010. Head to Head its 2-0 to Julien, who has won all 5 sets they have played, the score being 6-4 in every set! I think Istomin will gain some revenge tonight in San Jose
