Womens 1st round Value Punts

As you know there are many very short priced favourites in the 1st round of Grand Slam events, but that doesn't mean upsets don't happen. Lets see if we can look at a few outsiders who could cause a shock

K Pervak @ 2.50 to beat V Lepchenko - I think the American is a very average player and if Pervak is on her game, fit and hungry for the win should take this match, in my opinion at a huge price.

A Keothavong @ 2.75 to beat M Czink - Anne will have a chance here. She struggles to close out matches and obviously clay is not a great surface. However Anne took out Czink earlier in the year and Melinda is a very up and down player. Stranger things have happened

Zheng @ 2.75 to beat Cornet. Alize playing better and Zheng playing awful, but something tells me this match will not be easy for the French Girl. Zheng on her day can beat the best.

Chan @ 1.83 to beat K Bondarenko - I tipped Chan throughout qualifying at huge prices and she didntlet me down. This will be tough against Bondarenko but who knows how the Ukranian will play. I expect plenty of chances for Chan to break and it could be a long 3 setter

H Watson @ 2.50 to beat E Vesnina. Great qualifiyng results for Heather, who will be super confident. She will be very determined her to defend her WTA points from last year where she reached the 2nd round. She played Vesnina in 2010 in one of her 1st WTA tournaments and lost 7-6 6-3. Vesnina looked to be comnig back to form in the last few months, but hasn't pushed on as much and is capable of playing awful tennis. I expect Heather to give it a good shot
