Monday Tennis Predictions: Doha, Shenzhen, Brisbane, Auckland, Chennai, Bangkok, Noumea & Happy Valley

A Lottner 12/5 to defeat K Nara: Bit of punt here. Kurumi not in the form she was a few years ago and Antonia is up and coming. It maybe too early for the German in her career but at the start of the season an upset is possible in Auckland. Low stake only

A Krunic 8/11 to defeat A Barty: Alexandra has matches under her belt already and looks solid. Ash needs to show us how fit she is at the start of 2017. She is more than capable of defeating the Serbian but rustiness may play a part early in the season

T Babos 2/7 to defeat N Stojanovic: The Hungarian should be too consistent and powerful for the 20 year old Serbian. Nina had a long match yesterday in qualifying and this could provide her with confidence and match practice but also she is not used to playing at this level day in day out and that could cost her

M Barthel 4/11 to defeat D Jakupovic: Mona will be very motivated to back to a high class level and move back up the WTA rankings as soon as possible to be able to avoid wasting energy having to qualify. She should have too much skill for Dalila who has done most her winning at ITF level in 2016 - though she did win over 50 of these matches so confident also!

J Loeb 5/6 to defeat T Townsend: A tough match to call in Auckland qualifying. 2 young USA players who are motivated this year to progress to the next level of WTA tennis. Taylor has more power and experience but Jamie is at a career high ranking and has wasted less energy so far in NZ this weekend. Jamie has a 2-0 H2H over Taylor so will be confident. Either player could win as the betting suggests

N Rubin 4/11 to defeat M Morraig - The American should get the better of the German player here in Noumea. Noah still struggles with consistency but is on the rise and the more talented of the two.

S Kwon 2/7 to defeat Sun: Korea v China here and the Kwon should qualify for the Bangkok Challenger main draw.

O Jasika 8/13 to defeat N Gombos: Money has come for the young Aussie in Happy Valley and I think he can take out Gombos who hasn't progressed as much as expected when he first came on the scene. Strange results happen frequently in Happy Valley so beware! Low stakes only

B Tomic 4/5 to defeat D Ferrer: big match for a season opener in Brisbane. Bernard is unpredictable, especially if the crowd get behind him or if he is pressured. He has the ability to defeat Ferrer but you sometimes question his mental strength and motivation. David is coming to the end of his career and slipped down the rankings in 2016. He will be motivated to have a big season so lets see what he can do. As the betting suggests it could be close.
