M Youzhny 2/7 to defeat R Olivo - The Russian should win this one easily against a player who spends most his time on South American clay
R Stepanek 2/9 to defeat A De Greef. The 38 year old is trying to regain his ATP top 100 ranking and at his age will watch to avoid as much qualifying as he can into draws so when he sees a chance to get good ATP points early season he will take. Different class to De Greef
L Davis 4/7 to defeat K Nara - The USA player will be confident having taken out Bertens in the last round and think she may have enough to take out Kurumi in Auckland. Neither player is the most powerful so lets see who has the best game plan
D Cibulkova 4/11 to defeat S Zhang - The Chinese player has a lot of wins from WTA series and ITF events in the off season and also has matches in Brisbane under her belt. Still think Cibulkova will have the edge and motivation to climb even higher in the WTA rankings early in the season could boost her
M Doi 5/6 to defeat R Vinci - Misaki defeated Makarova in the first round while Roberta should have lost to Bondarenko but made a huge comeback. Doi may well be too consistent but as we all know it would be stupid to rule out a Vinci win
O Jabeur 8/11 to defeat N Stojanovic - Tough match to call. Head says Nina but Heart says Ons. This is a big match in Shenzhen for the two qualifiers. Both motivated and consistency on serve will be key. I am picking the Tunisian who may just be suited to conditions more.
R Federer 2/5 to defeat A Zverev - I think Roger will have too much and want to get the win for Switzerland here to help Bencic in her match against Petkovic. Zverev will ne nervous playing Roger on a big stage and this will help Federer even more.
J Tipsarevic 2/7 to defeat C Stebe - Two comeback players but Janko should be too good in Bangkok
C Moutet 2/1 to defeat Carballes-Baena - Bit of a punt but stranger things have happened in Noumea
L Saville 5/4 to defeat D King - The Aussie can win this match and conditions in Happy Valley will suit him.
B Krejickova 8/15 to defeat C Perrin - The Czech former top junior needs ranking points and should be at WTA level by now. This is the perfect opportunity. Krejickova should have too much quality in ITF Hong Kong
