Cara Black has been one of the most consistent doubles players on tour for over a decade. Now her long-term partnership with Liezel Huber has finished, she has been searching for a new player to bond with, unfortunately not with the success she is used to having. She has done well to reach the semis here with partner Rodionova, woh has limited success on the doubles court, tohugh she did reach the final of the mixed doubles at the Wimbledon in 2003. Rodionova is definatley the weak link of the two and her temperament often gets her into trouble and produces errors because of this. Cara won this title in 2008 and has over 60 doubles titles to her name. She will need to keep Rodionova focused on court and be the dominant partner throughout the match. Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova have only been playing together a few months too, but with amazing success. In only their third tournament together they blasted their way through the draw at Wimbledon to win the title! They seem to compliment each other well on court and Yaroslava has true admiration for Vania, wanting to play as a team together for a long time before they finally got together. King has had a disappointing singles career, where she was tipped to be the next big thing from the USA, but finally she is making a name for herself, albeit on the doubles court. I fancy King and Shvedova to continue their rise up the ranks and to reach their second Grand Slam doubles final of the year. Their win against Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta in the quarter finals shows they are up to the task of defeating Black and Rodionova
PREDICTION:
KING/SHVEDOVA TO WIN.
