C WOZNIACKI V V ZVONAREVA

Another great semi-final line-up between top seed and 2009 finalist Caroline Wozniacki and this years Wimbledon finalist Vera Zvonareva. Many pundits are going for a routine win for the Dane after her dominant performances so far in the tournament. However with the exception of her brilliant win against Maria Sharapova, Wozniacki hasn't had the most difficult of opponents. Chelsey Gullickson is no more than a collegiate player, Kai-Chen Chang is a very poor player who usually loses matches just by double faulting and Cibulkova isn't where she was in 2009. Wozniacki will find things a lot tougher against her Russian opponent today. Zvonareva will be looking to reach her second Grand Slam final of the year and has not lost a set against more competitve players. She beat dangerous opponents such as Dulghuru of Romania, the in form Kaia Kanepi of Estonia and talented Germans Lisicki and Petkovic. Vera will give it her all at New York and remember those Yanks love an underdog, so the Russian will have a fair share of the crowds support. Head to head it is 2 matches each with Wozniacki taking the last a few weeks back comfortably in straight sets. Both girls will need to serve well and attack each others weak second serves when they get the chance. Zvonareva will move Wozniacki around the court, but the Dane's ball placement will be to her advantage. i can see this going to three sets and value for money would make me go Zvonareva in three sets.

PREDICTION:

Zvonareva to win 3 sets
