Christina McHale v Tamira Paszek, WTA Quebec semi-final

Two teenagers looking for a place in the WTA Quebec final. Both has looked good so far in the draw and this match could well be gritty and more about mental attitude and keeping calm than the skill of either player. Christina McHale is the new American wizz-kid. The 18 year old will break into the worlds top 100 rankings if she can reach the final whilst Pazek will move into the worlds top 120 ranks. This is huge for both girls. 18 year old McHale demolished Alex Glatch in the quarter finals, losing only 13 points on serve and her won over 70% of her second serves, a important statistic. If she can keep the same consistency against Paszek then the Austrian could be in trouble. McHale looks at home on the Quebec courts and oozes confidence. Paszek though is a fighter. She has plenty more experience than McHale even though she is only one year older. Paszek had a good win against eighth seed Arvidsson in the last round, though the Swede only won 7 out of 28 second serve points! Pazsek will attack and if the balls go in then she could win.

PREDICTION:
