Federer is most people's favourite to win this match and the Bookies agree also with the odds heavily stacked in favour of Roger. Federer has a 10-5 record against his young Serbian opponent and both players know each others games really well and will both look to serve well and get the first counterpunch in of the rally and try and dominate the points. They have met in the last 3 US Opens and Federer has come out on top each time with the loss of just one set, although the majority of the sets have been close. Federer on paper shuold win this one and his form throughout the tournament has shown he is capable of going on to win the tournament defeating tough Jurgen Melzer and the likes of Robin Soderling in tricky conditions in straight sets. not easy to achieve. The 5 times former champion will look to regain his crown after his suprise loss to Juan Martin Del Potro in 2009. Novak though has been playing better and better in the at New York and after his scare in the first round. He hasn't lost a set since and has demolished the likes of Gael Monfils and the dangerous Mardy Fish without even a scare. Djokovic;s serve is starting to power and set up cheap points which he will need against one of the worlds best returners. He needs to be mentally tough. He has the game to cause an upset but needs to stay focused and concentrate on the consistency of his game rather than worry about his opponent. The tricky conditions in New York this week could also have a part to play in the result of this match. Who will cope better with the swirling wind? I think this is more an even match-up than what people think, and wouldn't be suprised to see a 5 set match.
PREDICTION:
Djokovic in 5 sets
