Kubot is the higher ranked of these 2 players but the tall Pole is in poor form in recent months and I dont think a return to clay will help. He showed a lot of promise at the end of last year but has failed to win as many matches as he would have liked. Filipo Volandri can never be discounted on clay and has had some fantastic results on the red stuff thorughout his career. However he can lose concentration very easy in matches and is not the player he once was! I still feel Volandri will have enough to beat the Pole this afternoon. Head to head it is 1-1 but the last time they played was in qualifying for this same tournament last year, which Volandri won in straight sets.
