Viktor Troicki saved 9 out of 10 break points to defeat Marin Cilic 7-5 6-3. The Croat played very badly in a few games which decided the match.
Robin Soderling was in my opinion very lucky to come away with a straight sets victory 6-4 7-6. The Swede saved 4 break points in the first set and it was only poor serving from Youzhny in the 10th game of the set that handed the lead to Soderling. Youzhny was the better player in the second set too but a lack of first serves in the tie-break handed the match to Soderling
Tsonga through against Tomas Berdych with the Czech playing failing to make it onto court due to injury
Ivan Ljubicic had a titanic tustle with Marcos Baghdatis eventually comnig through a tense third set tie-break, having already squandered a match point in the second set!
