Sloane Stephens thrashes Melanie Oudin in Estoril

Melanie Oudin was tipped as the best next thing for American tennis a few years ago, after a good run at Wimbledon and a dramatic rise in the rankings. However she has been unable to sustain this form and has slipped outside of the worlds top 50 players and looks like she may have to settle for a tennis career of fighting for ranking points rather than a Grand Slam hopeful. Today this was evident again as she slumped to her 18 year old rival Sloane Stephens ranked 170 in the world. Stephens came through qualifying and destroyed Oudin 6-2 6-1. Maybe Sloane is now the potential new star for team USA?
