ATP Halle: Semi-final Match Predictions
P Kohlschreiber to beat G Monfils: The Frenchman is the heavy favourite in this match and has a 3-0 head to to head record against Kohlschreiber, but the matches have been close. The German has had a mixed last few years, but is able to beat the best as his results show, but his consistency has suffered and has never been able to be a top player, but has made a nice career out of the sport. Monfils is now a top 10 player and is ready to show what he can finally do on the grass courts, especially geared to wimbledon. I think this could be a very close match and Monfils can often be a distracting player to play against which could upset the German's rythem. If he gets distracted by a few close calls as players can then Kohlschreiber could beat himself. I do however think the German has played well all week and has not faced a break point in his last two matches against Hewitt and Dolgopolov, two fine grass courters. He will have the German crowd behind him and I think he could cause a few problems for Monfils. The Frenchman at his best though is world class, but he is at too low odds for my liking in this match
